But is particularly annoying, because a) we do need 512 here as Ampere One (the most common open-market server ARM CPU) can go up to 448 cores in dual-socket b) on x86_64 Linux makes you jump through lots of hoops to even select offstack whereas on ARM64 it just does it silently c) there is AFAIK no good reason why that limit is 512 on x86_64 and 256 on ARM64.\n\nGoogle COS and Debian use 512 for ARM64 as well, so I guess at least on ARM64 offstack kind of has to be supported. On x86_64 COS and Clear Linux don\u0027t use offstack. As much as this sucks I think the way to go is to leave the configuration as-is.
